Car Park - many disabled parking bays. The car park was tarmacked and had brick paving.

Entrance - there was a slight ridge at the main building entrance. After entering visitors go through the shop area to a side door leading to the main stable yard, this door needs to be held open to go through it. The stable yard gives access to the fields where horses are.

Paths around the fields - around the main building there are brick paving and concrete surfaces. Paths around the fields are mostly concrete, however farther away from the main centre area the paths were often gravel. Some of these paths are on slopes. There is one particularly challenging walkway (see photo!), but there are warning signs at the start of this path.

Signage - there is regular signage throughout the grounds. Some paths have their own special name, such as Lizzie's Lane. Visitors are given a map at the entrance. It was noticed that the map doesn't include paths which are farthest away from the main buildings, so they can cause confusion.

Sound - there's a variety of sounds, including people talking and ponies whinnying! There are also sounds of the staff working. At the time of our visit a dentist's drill could be heard, as a vet attended to a donkey's teeth (see photo).

Kids' play park - good size play area for young children with a loose bark surfacing. By the play area there are benches and a community garden.

Cafe - for a weekday in September the cafe was busy. We were able to manouvre between the tables without a problem to a table by a window. The cafe had a good variety of hot and cold food and drinks, and the meal was much enjoyed.

Toilets - there were two disability toilets, one in the main building, and the other is in the toilet block farther into the grounds, in the middle.

Shop - there is a wide gangway around the shop floor and the items could be easily viewed.

Staff - helpful and informative.

The horses - they looked contented and well cared for. Many were in large fields and hay and water were readily available.
